Philosophy
As Catholic educators at Saint Joseph School, we believe that the major purpose of the Catholic School is to provide an atmosphere and curriculum that encourage the following of Christ as set forth in the Gospel. Within the school community, our teachers are prepared to witness to the message of the Gospel by word and example.
We believe that Christian values and experiences of faith must be received at home. We are to help support, develop and reinforce these values that parents, as the first educators of their children, have instilled in their offspring.
We strive to offer our children a high quality academic program that emphasizes the basics, using both traditional and contemporary methods. We seek to help each student learn according to his individual ability. We provide situations where the students learn self-discipline and a sense of responsibility that enables them to succeed throughout their lives.
We stress respect, praise, encouragement and love as the means of providing a comfortable and safe school environment. In such an atmosphere, children will develop their God-given potential as integrated whole persons – spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially. The philosophy of the Saint Joseph School Family encompasses an education that provides for the personal and communal growth of its members in this world, in order to make them worthy citizens of the world to come.
